Saturday-Sunday, May 27-28, 2006 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM - Mandukya Upanishad by Dr. Sadananda, a retired scientist by profession, a disciple of Swami Chinmayananda. This is one of the shortest upanishad involving only 12 mantras but is considered as one of the most scientific and profound upanishad revealing the truth. Vedanta itself glorifies the Mandukya Upanishad as one of the most important upanishad. The Upanishad analyses the waking, dream and deep sleep states of human experiences and presents the truth that transcends all the three states of experience. Sadanandaji is one of the founding members of CMWRC, a spiritual guide and teacher for the Northern Virginia Chapter of Chinmaya Mission for over eight years. He is survived by his 91 year old mother, Nirmala Naidu, his son Nishit Naidu, daughters Kim Cleveland and Niyathi Naidu, and grandson Christian Cleveland. Please join this service to honor this departed soul. A half hour of devotional chanting, Swami Dheerananda’s discourse and Memorial Speeches are planned in his honor.

Diwali Festival 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This festival is a common celebration for all Satellite Centers. All Mission members from these Centers are invited to participate in this important festivity. The program will start with Lakshmi pooja, followed by a cultural program, Dandya Raas and dinner.
As a part of the cultural program, we plan to stage "Dances of the Sub-Continent", by Mission members and their children. If you would like to participate in this program, with an item from your state, region, country or continent, please respond immediately and include a description of the item. Also, if any of you wish to assist in pooja, food or decoration arrangements please let us know. We have very little time for planning.
