Summer Camp 2007

Camp Times: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM  

Locations:

VIRGINIA - Pinecrest School, 7209 Quiet Cove, Annandale, Virginia 22003.

MARYLAND - July 23 to August 17, 2007 - Chinmaya Mission, 46 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905.

Objective: Physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual growth of our children, imbibing in them our ancient eternal wisdom, values and culture, at the same time creating awareness of excellence in studies and allowing them to discover the excitement of the summer time through fun, play and creativityThe morning session will consist of reading, writing, yoga, japa, chantings, bhajans, story time, etc.  In the afternoon session, there will be indoor games, outdoor sports, arts and crafts, science for fun, folk dance, drama, aarti, etc.  Click here for flyer

 

Age: Child should be in Grade 1 through 7

 

Duration: In VA Camp will start from Monday, June 25, 2007 and end on Friday, July 20, 2007, a total period of 4 weeks.   There is no class on July 4th holiday. In MD, the duration is 4 weeks, from July 23 to August 17, 2007. Only full time registrations are entertained

 

Time:

Camp timings are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Monday  through Friday.  Drop in time is 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.  and pick up time is 5:00 PM, when children should be picked up promptly.

 

Registration:

Seats are strictly limited. Admissions open from January 2007. Apply early for better chances Full time participants only.  Admissions will be confirmed March, 2007

Dress: 

A comfortable and modest dress is recommended suitable for outdoor and sports activities.  If shorts are used, they should be longer and come up to the knees.

 

Food:

Each child will bring his/her own vegetarian lunch pack.  Snacks, milk and drinks will be provided at the Camp at appropriate times.  Children will be asked to pray before taking lunch.  Parents are advised to follow the same practice at home before each meal.

 

Field Trips:

On Fridays, there will be a field trip or swimming .  Parents are required to sign permission form for off-campus trips.  They are also required to signup for accompanying for one field trip. Click here for Field Trip Guidelines.

 

Fees:

For Chinmaya Mission Members paying monthly contributions:

 

$600 for the whole camp for the first child and $560 for other siblings.

 

For Non-Members:

 

$650 for the whole camp for the first child and $600 for other siblings.

 

PAYMENT:  All fees are to be paid in advance at the time of Registration (See form under Registration Form).

  

 

Orientation

The orientation meeting of parents, teachers, and Sevaks will be held for VA on Saturday, June 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Pinecrest School.  For MD it will be held on Saturday, July 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Chinmaya Mission.

 

Youth Opportunities/Volunteers:

There are some limited opportunities for youth counselors, ages 13+

Details:  We offer physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual growth of our children,  mentoring them with our ancient eternal wisdom, values and culture. We create an environment where they become aware of excellence in studies and allowing them to discover the excitement of the summer time through fun, play and creativity. The camp consists of reading, writing, yoga, japa, chantings, bhajans, story time etc. Indoor and Outdoor sports, arts and crafts, science for fun, folk dance, drama add to the fun of the camp.

Location: Chinmayam

Objective:

Physical, Mental, Intellectual, and Spiritual Growth of our children, imbibing in them our ancient eternal Wisdom, Values and Culture, at the same time creating awareness of excellence in studies and allowing them to discover the excitement of the summer time through fun, play and creativity.

Wednesday July 23th to Saturday July 26th, 2003: Chinmaya Mission Residential Sacred Vision Camp

"Journey to the Source of Creation"

Location: Christian Brothers Spiritual Center,

This camp will take place at The Christian Brother's Spiritual Center located on Route 85, seven miles south of Frederick Maryland. The Center is situated on a 400 acre dairy farm in Monocacy Valley surrounded by the Catoctin Mountain and the Sugarloaf Mountain.
