Acharya Sumatiji's Discourses
Tuesday, December 23-Friday December 26, 2008 in Virginia- Jnana Yajna - Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3
Saturday, December 27-Sunday December 28, 2008 - Spiritual Camp in Chinmayam - Drig-Drishya-Viveka
Adi Shankaracharya, in this short composition of 31 verses, has condensed the essence of Vedanta that establishes the identity of the individual and the Infinite Reality. Drig Drishya Viveka means the discrimination between the Seer and the seen. Discrimination in this text refers to separation of the Seer from the seen, the Real from the unreal. Having taken ourselves to be something that we are not, we suffer endlessly in life. The purpose of discrimination is to know our own true nature, thereby ending all sorrows for all times and gaining the absolute, unconditioned bliss. By consistent and guided inquiry, all our doubts about our identity will disappear and we shall come to experience the true divine.
Brni. Sumati Chaitanya, Acharya, Chinmaya Mission UK will deliver the discourses in her very contemporary style. After completing her Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya of Chinmaya Mission, Bombay, Sumati ji has been spreading the Spiritual Knowledge in India and abroad for over a decade. A highly acclaimed speaker, she has touched the hearts of many spiritual seekers of all ages through her striking clarity and innovative examples.

Saturday-Sunday May 24-25, 2008 Memorial Day Camp - Sadvidya of Chandogya Upanishad by Sri Dr. K. Sadananda. All objective knowledge appears to be exhaustive; the more one learns the more ignorant one becomes. He discovers that what he does not know is more than what he knows, in any field of knowledge. It is only the Upanishad teacher makes a daring declaration that by knowing one thing you will know everything that need to be known – Eka vijnAnEna sarva vijnAnam bhavati. Chandogya Upanishad 6th Chapter on Sadvidya focuses exclusively on this statement, analyzing exhaustively and logically how knowing the one (Self), you can know everything – tat tvam asi. It is an ideal chapter with an emphasis on the mahAvakya tomake it easier for the student to understand. We will explore how the knowledge of the Self is the ultimate knowledge to know everything that is needed to be known. For details contact Raja Kirkire 301-774-1022.
